Midnight Blue Organ Trio

Classic Jazz Organ Trio | Soulful Grooves & Timeless Sounds

About the Band

Midnight Blue is a jazz organ trio blending the classic sounds of Jimmy Smith, Wes Montgomery, and Kenny Burrell with modern modal and Latin influences. Rooted in tradition but always exploring, the trio delivers dynamic performances filled with bluesy grooves, rich harmonies, and deep improvisation.

Organ Player Lee

Lee

NASA engineer by day and keyboardist by night (and day) Lee Feinberg plays in several jazz and blues bands in the D.C. area. He plays both piano and Hammond organ with the Allman Others Band and is holding down the bass in his left hand while playing the classic Hammond organ for the Midnight Blue organ trio

Billy Guitar Player

Billy

After graduating from Berklee College of Music in the ‘80s, Billy promptly forgot everything he learned and started backing songwriters in Los Angeles and D.C. — until he forgot how to do that, too, and accidentally became a software engineer. Decades later, Billy woke from his musical slumber, remembered that he knew jazz guitar, and bravely quit his coding job. These days, he’s back on stage, where audiences agree: he doesn’t suck — well, at least not nearly as much as before.

Jon Drummer

Jon

As a young man, Jon left music school in Miami to study percussion in Southern Africa. There he discovered his knack for humanitarian work — turns out, saving the world pairs nicely with drumming.  Along the way, he picked up an eclectic mix of inspirations. These global grooves, and his incurable wanderlust, spill out in his music. Now slightly less young, Jon can be found playing in various jazz groups and orchestras in DC, and occasionally Copenhagen.
